St. Andrews Partners LLC, a women-owned small business, has a two-track focus: private equity and angel investing.

Our private equity investments seek collaboration with entrepreneurially oriented companies focusing on long-term growth.

Our angel investments pursue morally responsible organizations who possess high impact ideas and strategies that strengthen our nation’s culture.

Laura Coster, MD / Founder, Partner

Dr. Coster, an infectious disease expert, brings knowledge of Medical and Biotech matters to St. Andrews Partners.

Dr. Coster most recently was employed at Georgetown University Hospital where she worked as Assistant Professor, Infection Diseases in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Travel Medicine. Her Fellowship was in Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda. MD.

Dr. Coster is the recipient of the 2016 Hope Award, Georgetown University. She was inducted in 2015 to the National Gold Humanism Honor Society.

Dr. Coster has been a Consultant to the Peace Corp., a Volunteering Physician Gift of Peace Hospice, and a Catholic Charities Volunteer Physician.

Dr. Coster has an extensive amount of Research Experience, along with numerous Publications.

Martin J. Coster / Founder, Partner

A financial, accounting, operations and customer-relations Executive, Mr. Coster brings three decades of management experience to St. Andrews Partners.

Previously, Mr. Coster served as Senior Director and Chief Financial Officer at the FGA Group. Under his leadership, the FGA Group offered middle-market federal contracting partnership development and integration and investment recruitment focusing on the government services and defense technology industry. Mr. Coster possessed the domain expertise, industry relationships, and corporate finance experience to complete a wide variety of transactions tailored to meet corporate objectives. By creating and maintaining close relationships with leading public and private investors, middle market lenders, institutional and private equity investors, Mr. Coster developed a strong track record of completing mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, capital raising and recapitalization transactions. His deals and transactions totaled over $2.2B in aggregate value.

Mr. Coster has worked as Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for several major federal contractors, including major defense contractors. He has worked extensively with government contracting organizations both public and privately held, both large-scale system integrators and small federal divisions. Possessing over twenty years of experience in Financial Leadership over finance and accounting functions with a dedicated focus on Federal Contracting and Procurement, Mr. Coster possesses extensive knowledge of, and has extensive experience interfacing with, both government and commercial customers. With a background in multi-million, as well as billion-dollar revenue companies, he has had financial and operational oversight over multiple disciplines.

Mr. Coster also has in-depth experience in overseeing proposal development, engineering, customer service, while improving forecasting and financial reporting systems, implementing reliable financial reporting, firm budget oversight, risk management, strict compliance with GAAP, FAR, Sarbanes-Oxley and DCAA Reporting, and held a key role in achieving P&L and cash targets.

He has played lead roles in post-acquisition integration and divesting non-core business segments at multiple companies. He has extensive experience in the intelligence community and department of defense markets in both fiduciary and operational roles. His areas of focus and success in performing financial and legal reviews of business matters, supporting acquisition and divestiture activities, due diligence and contract and lease negotiations, as well as excelling in integrating acquired companies under a common financial and administrative practices.

Mr. Coster earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business (Accounting and Finance) from Radford University in 1987 and has spent over 20 years in the industry and is an active member of NCMA.

Douglas B. Grane / Founder, Partner

An entrepreneurial-oriented Executive with three decades of experience, Mr. Grane has demonstrated versatility in managing start-ups, turnarounds and acquisition integrations. Mr. Grane has a record of success with privately owned, family-owned corporations, as well as non-profits.

In addition to St. Andrews Partners, Mr. Grane currently serves as President of Triple Nickel Federal Solutions, and as a Leadership Coach with Deus Vult Coaching.

Previously, Mr. Grane served as Senior Vice President, Strategic Partnerships at Live Action where he was responsible for maintaining and sourcing additional relationships with financial supporters, building partnerships with allies, and managing Live Action’s political relationships.

Prior to Live Action, Mr. Grane worked as COO/CFO of Raptor Strategies, LLC a start-up public relations/ public affairs firm located in Washington, DC. Mr. Grane oversaw Raptor’s day-to-day operations, served as Political Director, and managed the firms’ Government Affairs practice. With particular emphasis on transportation client services, Mr. Grane’s issue portfolio included health care, insurance, non-profits, veteran’s affairs, media, and domestic and international financial services.

Prior to Raptor Strategies, Mr. Grane served as President and Owner of Central States Trucking Co., a multimodal, mid-size transportation company based in the Chicago suburb of Bensenville, IL. Focusing on the container drayage, dedicated contract carriage, line haul and warehouse (import/export) markets, Mr. Grane, for three years running (2007-2009), led a dynamic team to winning Inc. Magazine’s “Fastest Growing Privately Held U.S. Companies” award.

While at Central States, Mr. Grane was an active member of the Illinois Trucking Association, the Freight Council of CMAP (Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning), the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, and Vistage International (the world’s largest CEO membership organization).

Mr. Grane was a member of Legatus (Catholic Business Owner’s organization) from 2007-2018.

Mr. Grane currently serves on the Board of Directors at Heartbeat International, the world’s largest Pregnancy Help Center network.

Mary M. Grane / Founder, Partner

Mrs. Grane is a senior level Human Resources expert whose specialty is recruiting Information Technology (IT) related professionals. Mrs. Grane has also interviewed and hired candidates in Sales, Finance, Accounting and Human Resources.

Mrs. Grane is the Founder/Owner of Triple Nickel Federal Solutions, LLC. Triple Nickel, focusing on the defense and intelligence community, provides cleared and certified long-term IT talent in the Washington D.C. area and beyond. In addition, Triple Nickel delivers software reselling services.

Past positions include: Manager- Recruiting, ACI; Recruiter, DRT Systems (Deloitte); Business Operations Manager, The Baldewein Company; Telecommunications Analyst, U.S. Cellular Corporation.
